The ROBIN Program and SPSC, Inc. would not be successful in meeting their goal of serving the community of Old Bridge without the monetary and volunteer support of local civic-minded persons and organizations too numerous to mention. SPSC:
- Is a not-for-profit, all volunteer 501C-3 United Way organization;
- Assists the Department of Parks and Recreation in providing individuals with diverse abilities access to various activities and experiences through the ROBIN Program (Recreation in Old Bridge for those In Need);
- Offers the ROBIN program to individuals with diverse abilities, ages 7 through adult, in Old Bridge as well as those in surrounding towns;
- Is proud of the collaborative efforts of volunteers, businesses, residents and Old Bridge Township who together dedicated the Camp ROBIN Activity Center and accessible playground in Geick Park in 1998, located on Route 516. Camp ROBIN is devoted to meeting the recreational needs of its participants.
How Does SPSC Function?
SPSC:
- Fundraises to provide money needed for Camp ROBIN outside trips;
- Recruits volunteers for staff and events;
- Raised the required $50,000 matching funds to develop the Camp ROBIN Activity Center;
- Provides scholarships for those in need;
- Provides equipment for the Special Olympics Area 5 Speed Skating Team, and Area 5 Swim Team; also provides uniforms for State Competitions.
- All donations benefit ROBIN participants because the program is run by volunteers.
- Donors can specify that a donation be applied to a particular place or event, or the purchase of equipment, or to sponsor a pizza or ice cream party.
- Non-monetary donations are most welcome, such as providing a crafts class or show, etc.
- Donations are tax deductible under Tax ID # 22-2895607.
